A sweet and creamy dessert appetizer made with cream cheese, butter, and mini chocolate chips, finished with a crunchy pecan coating.
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup finely chopped pecans
1. Beat the softened cream cheese and butter in a medium bowl until smooth and fluffy.
2. Mix in the confectioners’ sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
3. Fold in the miniature chocolate chips by hand.
4. Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least two hours.
5. Shape the chilled mixture into a ball, wrap in plastic, and chill for another hour.
6. Roll the ball in chopped pecans just before serving on a platter.
Sift the confectioners’ sugar to avoid lumps.
Toast the pecans for a deeper flavor profile.
